We all know that the entire Game of Thrones series has been set in a pre-colonial era kind of setting no one really knows how many hundreds of years ago.
An era where ravens were still relied on for long distance communications, swords were the go to weapons for war and death was an instant punishment for almost every type of mistake.
But have we ever sat down to wonder how it will all pan out if the occurrences of the Game of Thrones series happened in our 21st century modern era? Would Cersei Lannister be the Queen of England and her children the Prince and Princess? Would there be a Prime Minister Lannister?
What will be the roles and positions of Jon Snow and Khaleesi, would dire wolfs still be a desirebale pet to own? Would we have thousands of castrated unsullied army? Would Tyrion Lannister still be despised by his father for his height?
Machine guns certainly would be in every Lannister soldier’s hands and maybe atomic bombs and missles would the most deadly weapons of war and not Dracays or Verision. Would the President of North Korea be the night king? Or maybe Nmadi Keanu sef?
These are some of the scenarios this hardcore Game of Thrones fan German satirist and TV presenter Jan Böhmermann was trying to portray in his self made trailer. With an opening sequence of the skyline of Westoros mirroring that of New York City and an overview of the citizens in a stadium probably at Kings Landing like that of Times Square.
We are introduced to Prime Minister Lannister who assures the citizens of the seven kingdoms that they are safe and there is nothing behind nor to be afraid of behind the wall. We are shown a clip of would be Jon Snow waking up from the dead as probably a white walker as his eyes have turn blue ice.
We are then shown a scene with the Lannister soldiers sporting modern day guns replacing there identical swords and the shillotue of a dragon, probably Dracays flying over the air space of the city. A sex scene between Khaleesi and Jon Snow couldn’t be ignored as we get a glimpse of what the wall will look like in it’s all high and gianfintic white nature.
The internet has being buzzing ever since the release of trailer, with many fans call on the producers of the series HBO to take the idea in and make the series into a spin off movie and set the story of the series into a modern day scenario.
Whether this is being considered or paid any attention by the executives of HBO is yet to be known but if any time a spin off movie is made off the series I will be one queuing no matter how long the line might be to buy a Game of Thrones movie ticket.
